Raikkonen Won Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP

Kimi Raikkonen won a crash-filled Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday for his first triumph since recurring to Formula One this year, a result which throws open the drivers' contest with two races residual. Raikkonen, the 2007 winner who returned to F1 after gathering driving for a year, overtook Red Bull's Mark Webber at the start to go into second. 

He took the guide on the 20th lap when McLaren's Lewis Hamilton leave because of a fuel force problem, and then avoided the half-dozen collides and collisions that twice brought out the protection car. Raikkonen detained off Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, who finished second. Two-time defensive F1 champion Sebastian Vettel scratched back from last to finish third, his guide over Alonso cut to 10 points.

McLaren's Jenson Button ended fourth, chase by Williams’s driver Pastor Maldonado. Vettel was punish for fuel indiscretions after qualifying, forcing him to start from the pits. He tops the drivers' competition with 255 points, followed by Alonso (245) and Raikkonen (198). Red Bull leads the constructors' contest with 422 points. Ferrari (340) is second and McLaren (318) third. 

“I'm very happy for the team and for myself but mostly for the team,” said Raikkonen, who last succeeded a race in 2009 with Ferrari at the Belgian GP and now has 19 wins. “It's been a hard period for the team. Hopefully, this gives us more faith, not just for persons are doing the work but those who run the team.”
